


CUO Shines at International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Education in Goa
Faculty and students from the Department of Agriculture, School of Integrated Agriculture and Natural Resources, Central University of Odisha (CUO), made a mark at an international conference held at Goa University from February 24 to 26, 2025. The event, organized by the Agricultural Technology Development Society (ATDS), was themed “Cutting-edge Research Innovations in Sustainable Education, Environment & Agriculture.”
Dr. Anupam Dakua, Assistant Professor, represented CUO in person, accompanied by three second-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students. Dr. Manjushree Singh, Associate Professor and Head of the Department, was invited as a Lead Speaker and presented a talk on “Integrated Approach of Remote Sensing and GIS in Climate-Smart Agriculture.”
Several faculty members were recognized for their academic excellence. Dr. Lopamudra Behera (Plant Pathology), Dr. Debadatta Panda (Genetics & Plant Breeding), and Dr. Anupam Dakua (Agricultural Extension) were each conferred the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award 2025. Dr. Pradosh Kumar Parida, Guest Faculty, received the Best M.Sc. Thesis Award 2025 for his contribution in Agronomy.
In addition, eight 4th-semester students had their abstracts selected for publication in the conference souvenir, showcasing the department’s vibrant research culture.
Prof. N. C. Panda, Dean of the School, congratulated the awardees and lauded the students’ achievements, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in research and innovation.
